Self-portrait of the Floridian now living in Alaska.

Winter 2009!

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 14, 2009, 8:25 PM

Alas! It feels like I turned around and five months blew by!

Yes, indeed... All is quite busy on my end of the wires. Teaching four classes, working on a new digital studio, and (of course) learning to be a father! Our daughter was born on July 18th of this year and my oh my, parenthood has been a rollercoaster of new experiences. I haven't had much time to get out and soak of Alaskana in recent months, but do have quite a bit of material waiting ever-so-patiently in the wings. I may try to force myself to get back in the habit of jumping on dArt at least once a week. I miss the place. And every time I seem to get back into the swing of things, life picks me up and blows me back out the window!!!

So it goes. At least I'm happy to find myself back in from time to time, even if it's but for a little while.

Oklahoma is pretty nifty. Norman is amazing.

And then I asked myself: How does one increase page views? (Thanks to 0goldfinger0 for the idea)

I was glad to have spent as much time as I did there, though I'm a bit more of a water-person than what Oklahoma has to offer. Norman was awesome to live in -- and the University of Oklahoma was fantastic. I remain convinced that the Wichitas down south is one of the most magical places on this planet. Just takes my breath away!!!

I hope to get back down sometime to visit. Such beauty in the prairie.
